We at Philippian Community Church in Jacksonville are very glad that you are considering the possibility of visiting us and hope that your time with us will become invaluable to you.  Here at PCC, we try to make sure the first thing you see when you walk through the doors is a smiling face ready to assist you and your family in whatever needs you may have.

When people are checking out a church, they deserve straight answers to important questions.  We have tried to anticipate what a number of your questions may be regarding our church.  Please do not hesitate to e-mail us if you have additional questions at Philippian Community Church.

When should we arrive? [TOP]

Doors open approximately thirty minutes prior to the start of service.  We invite you to join us beginning at 10:00 a.m. for Sunday School; Approximately 11:30 a.m. for Sunday Worship Service; Tuesday at 7:30 p.m., Insight for Christian Living and for Saint's Night which begins promptly at 7:30 p.m each Friday. We encourage you to come ready to receive a Word from the Lord, as you discover that PCC in Jacksonville is the place where you can belong. 

How old is your church? [TOP]
The Philippian Community Church in Jacksonville began in the home of the founder Bishop Lawrence C. Callahan, Sr. on November 25, 1979.  The church outgrew the Callahan residence, and hence the church services were soon located to Clyde Drive.  The membership continued to grow and the vision of Bishop Callahan expanded to build a new facility in which the first service was held in the new sanctuary located at 7578 New Kings Road, on February 16, 1986.

Tuesday & Friday, 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM

What should I wear to church? [TOP]

We're more concerned with meeting your real life needs than what you wear.  Dress usually ranges from casual to business suits and ties - all are welcome!

Will I be welcome at PCC? [TOP]

We welcome Anyone, from Any walk of life and in Any stage of life to join our fellowship. Yes, that means you!!

Will I have to stand up in front of people? [TOP]

Guest are never called upon or pointed out, so don’t worry about being embarrassed. We understand what it is like to be in a new church!  So while the people at PCC are genuinely interested in getting to know you and want to make you feel welcome, we will never call on you or embarrass you in any way. You can relax and enjoy meeting people at your own pace. Those parts of the service that you may not be familiar with are explained, so you don’t need to be concerned about not knowing when to sit, pray, stand, or what to do next.

How do I become a member of PCC? [TOP]

 At the conclusion of the Pastor's message, an invitation will be extended.  Our staff is available to take your information and affirm your decision.

What kind of church are you? [TOP]

PCC is Bible based, and Jesus is the central focus as we get a people ready to meet Jesus.  Additionally, We are the established headquarter of Philippi Koinonia, Inc. A fellowship of Believers."  We are thankful for God's favor and strive to be compassionate in our love for all people and seek to be a ministry that flow in His spirit of Excellence. 

Why do newcomers make PCC their church home? [TOP]

Based on their feedback, it is clear that newcomers experience PCC as a safe place to be.  Preaching and teaching are Biblical and balanced, leaders are not overbearing but committed to serve, children are well cared for, and everyone feels the openness, comfort and encouragement of a caring Christian fellowship. Most newcomers find that friends are easily made.

Do I have to be a Member to participate? [TOP]

At PCC of Jacksonville you do not have to be a member to participate in any area of worship or a Bible study group! We offer many events and opportunities to the community and encourage participation by all members and non-members. Membership is important though and we offer sessions that allow people interested in connecting with PCC in more significant ways to get plugged in. Start out with our In Sight for Christian Living Bible Study, Tuesday's at 7:30 PM or our Saints Night, Friday's at 7:30 PM.
